MELODY
A s a child Melody always had rocks in her pockets and lining her window sill, but it was years later while she was working as a
scientist in the nuclear energy industry that this interest developed into more than a love of the mineral world. Reading a white paper
on the piezoelectricity energy she realised that the type of energy present in quartz and other minerals had important correlations
with the human energy field, and so she began researching this energy. In 1982 Melody began her study by methodically conducting
experiments into each mineral in turn.
This research formed the basis for her book Love is in the Earth, the book that has become the essential reference book for the
majority of crystal shops around the UK . Melody explains that she did the research to give people a starting place: I would never
say these properties are the only properties, they are just the ones that I have verified with three different people in a controlled
environment. I really encourage people to go out and see what else they can find out.'
Melody's research has made it clear for her that humans establishing a stronger relationship with the mineral world experience a
positive effect on their health and well being: 'I think that it is very beneficial for humans to work with minerals because of the electron
transmission and the movement in the electron field melding with the electrons in the body.'
Melody has built up a network of teachers with the aim of ensuring that large numbers of people have the opportunity of reaching a
closer relationship with the mineral world: 'I hope the 3 stages create a wave of people to take the teachings out more fully to as many
as possible. I think that we need more people out there who can do the teaching. My energy is there to visit and when there are enough
people I do not need to go back'.
